I know I’ve already gushed about Bolivia, but it really does deserve it. Today I went on a day tour with a guide who showed me around.
La Paz has a gondola system, in the same way other cities might have a metro. The lines go all around the city, and given how steep the city is it’s no wonder that it’s the fastest way to get between multiple places. The only weird part is that sometimes the gondolas pass rather close to people’s homes, and clearly some of them never open their curtains because all day everyday people can look in!
I kept making mental notes of the things the guide said today so I could recount them here, but you know what? No. If you want to hear these awesome stories, you have to come visit yourself.
I’ll share a couple of photos though.
Below is a photo of a small part of La Paz, the city appears massive because it’s located in this bowl.
The Valley of the Moon. It’s hard to capture how amazing this looks walking through it, it really feels like you’re walking through ejecta regolith.
