And now I’m on the road for the first of 28 days of an intrepid tour.
Yesterday I had time to go shopping and found a beautiful outdoor mall on the top of a cliff looking out over the Pacific.
There were a number of western shops I’ve not seen in awhile, including Patagonia, Nike, and Columbia sportswear. Given how much weight I’ve lost it was seriously time to get a new wardrobe, and I’ve gone from an XL to an L, so I now have replaced pretty much all of my regular clothes (not replacing the warm jackets, etc).
This morning we had a walking tour of part of Lima, and then got on a bus for our 4 hour public bus ride to Pisco. By now im pretty used to the usual level of bus we get. Our guide has warned us that we have a 10 hour bus trip coming up in 7 days — es lo que es — it is what it is.
But this afternoon expectations were subverted. This public bus is more like business class on a plane. Every seat has in seat screen, own curtain, the screen has multiple movies and books to choose from. Theres even a GPS map like planes have to track progress.
