Bet you all didn’t know that jungles are muggy! Even when it’s only 23°C it’s still muggy! The weather forecast says it’s 23 with a feels like at 28, and I certainly believe it. In fact I’m sweating like it’s 35.
Intrepid modified this trip recently and added this town as the first stop. Our guide, nor none of us, understand why we stop here. We were only here one night, and the town is pretty small, virtually nothing to do, it’s also in the opposite direction to where we’re going (it’s north as opposed to south).
I got up at 5:30am today, sunrise, to go for a walk through the jungle/forest and managed to see a few birds and squirrels.
Howler monkeys make this really weird noise in the morning. It’s a combination of the loudest and longest snore you’ve ever heard, with a wind howling through a valley, and something else I can’t describe. One person described it simply as “it sounded like aliens were coming to collect us”.
